Gretchen Baez
Now in her senior year, Gretchen Baez was compelled to join journalism so that she could focus on media and get a feel of what it’s like to work in a field she is interested in. She enjoys meeting and engaging with others with common interests. For instance, in the summer, she visited Dallas, TX, and as a member of Christ for the Nations Institute she spoke to many new people who were also a part of the group. During this time she had her own dorm, and a set schedule during which she would attend service in the morning with guest speakers and play games with other members. This opportunity gave her the chance to meet people from different parts of the country, as well as from Mexico.

Additionally, her vacation had expanded her views and made her realized she would like to travel to other big cities some day. Over the course of this summer, she has spent much of her time working at a packaging company called Peapod. Baez was in track for both freshman and sophomore year; however, this year she plans to leave her mark one last while juggling work and being part of the track team. Aside from track team, she also plays the flute in band, has a fear of spiders and loves to watch movies based on true stories. Shorty put, Baez is a dreamer with goals she's set on accomplishing and while in journalism she hopes to broaden her scope and outlook on life.
