The Round Lake Civic Center will host a fun, festive weekend of drinking, rides, and a fish boil Oct. 4-6. The weekend activities are all hosted by the Women of the Moose Wauconda Chapter 1520.

Kicking off the fun weekend Friday, Oct. 4 is Oktoberfest Night. From 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., guests can enjoy free live music from Die Musikmeisters German Band. The night will also feature a stein holding contest with snacks, beer, and wine all provided by the Women of the Moose.

The event gets a bit more family friendly Saturday, Oct. 5 with Kid’s Day at Fall Fest. The first 200 children that show up get a free pumpkins. What’s more fun than getting free pumpkins? Face painting! Along with free face painting, the event also features hay rides.

Two hours after the kids event is over starting at 6 p.m.., adults can still come by for samples of different homemade craft beer. Designated drivers will get in for a dollar and be served all the soda they want. A lot of the proceeds go to a local animal shelter.

And what better way to end the weekend than by going to a fish boil having delicious sea food and drinks while jamming out to live music? That’s exactly what Fall Fest goers are in store for Sunday, Oct. 6.

Jessica Lockwood, administrative assistant and deputy clerk at the Round Lake Civic Center, is a member of the Women of the Moose Wauconda Chapter 1520. She chose the Civic Center because she thought it would be the perfect location for families to have a good time.
