Christmas time has finally come to a start in Round Lake. Village officials started off the holiday spirit with an annual tree lighting Friday, Nov 30. The residents of Round Lake gathered around Village Hall to sing along with one of the elementary school’s choirs and to witness the arrival of Santa Claus. The crowd kept warm with complimentary hot cocoa and cookies. Finishing the night, friends and family were able to take pictures with Santa.
On Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 8, Round Lake High School hosted the 2018 Winter Spectacular. Round Lake residents enjoyed the wonderful performances of the talented RLHS students. Full of artistic compositions, the crowd was able to enjoy the band, choir, color guard, and theatre all under the same roof.
These are just a few of the holiday traditions around Round Lake. There are more to follow as we get closer and closer to Dec.25. And beyond community traditions and events, many families celebrate special traditions this time of year. What other things do you and your family enjoy doing around the holidays?
