“Riverdale” is a drama-filled television series based on the characters of the “Archie” comics. The “Archie” comics is a super popular comic book that has sold billions worldwide.    The show takes place in Riverdale, a town where nothing bad really happens until July 4 when Jason Blossom’s death suspiciously happens and they can’t find his body. Everything changes for the town as more killings happen and secrets are revealed. Archie Andrews and his friends deal with family, school, and relationship problems, all while dealing with a serial killer on the loose.

The show takes us through the mysterious killings happening in the town of Riverdale. The killer is someone who wants the people of the town of suffer for their sins because the killer’s granddad was buried alive . Everyone now worries that they could be next target. After the killer attempts to kill Archie and his friends and the group begins to turn against each other, they all decide to go on a hunt to try and catch the killer. Things get rough with their friendships. They have to work together as a team to catch the killer all while dealing with their personal issues like Betty’s sister, the shooting of Archie’s dad, and Veronica’s parents. They deal with Northside and Southside rivalry. The Northside and Southside rivalry has been going on for centuries, the Northside (the rich and wealthy people) feels that the Southside is responsible for all the bad things that happen in town and the Southside ( the lower class people) feels that the Northside is to privileged and praised by the town.

The show has been so successful it was renewed for a second season. “Riverdale” has had very positive reviews, including an 81 percent “fresh” from Rotten Tomatoes. James Poniewozik of The New York Times writes,“The terrific art direction warps the bubble-gum iconography into something haunting and lurid. Take Archie and the Blossom twins’ hair — so red that it’s clownish, like dyed cotton candy. What the original comics drew as milky and wholesome, ‘Riverdale’ dials up to ghostly and unnatural.” Brain Lowry of CNN.com writes, “’Archie Comics’ meets ‘Twin Peaks’ in ‘Riverdale,’ a surprisingly good adaptation that takes the familiar exploits of the cartoon gang, sexes them up—including a central murder mystery—and brings them into the 21st century.”  The show’s actors and actresses are KJ Apa (Archie Andrews), Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge), Lili Reinhart (Betty Cooper), and Cole Sprouse (Jughead Jones).

“Riverdale” is a show that you get addicted to just by watching the first episode. The characters are very relatable and the story told is very intriguing.
